Today’s post is a DIY for making your own confetti bags. I made these confetti bags in April for the Wedding Event with a Difference in Nottingham to display on the Peach Blossom stand. They ended up being really popular with the brides-to-be and were a big talking point so I thought it might be an idea to put together a mini tutorial.
All the bits I used are available to buy in the Peach Blossom shop but what I think is so great about creating something like this is you can use anything you might already have or you might switch something up to make something which reflects you.
The steps are pretty straight forward so let’s just jump straight in to the photographs
So for this project I’ve used small glassine envelopes, yellow confetti, white round doilies, pink heart stickers, mini wooden pegs and pink carnival stickers. Like I said, you can use anything you might already have or you might want to mix the colour scheme up – this is just what I wanted to work with!
First up you need to fill your bags with confetti. Don’t feel like you need to fill your bags up until they’re bursting, your guests don’t need loooads of the stuff and it won’t look as pretty anyway.
Then seal your bags so your confetti doesn’t fall out – I wanted to add the pretty factor with these cute heart stickers but you could maybe use some patterned washi tape.
Next I folded a doily over each bag, added a carnival ticket and kept them in place with a wooden peg.
And hey presto, your confetti bag is complete!
I’d love to hear about anything you plan to make for your wedding. What alternatives might you use for this idea? Leave a comment or you can email in your pics!
