DIY : Cute Confetti Bags

Today’s post is a DIY for making your own confetti bags.  I made these confetti bags in April for the Wedding Event with a Difference in Nottingham to display on the Peach Blossom stand.  They ended up being really popular with the brides-to-be and were a big talking point so I thought it might be an idea to put together a mini tutorial.

All the bits I used are available to buy in the Peach Blossom shop but what I think is so great about creating something like this is you can use anything you might already have or you might switch something up to make something which reflects you.

The steps are pretty straight forward so let’s just jump straight in to the photographs :)

So for this project I’ve used small glassine envelopes, yellow confetti, white round doilies, pink heart stickers, mini wooden pegs and pink carnival stickers.  Like I said, you can use anything you might already have or you might want to mix the colour scheme up – this is just what I wanted to work with!

First up you need to fill your bags with confetti. Don’t feel like you need to fill your bags up until they’re bursting, your guests don’t need loooads of the stuff and it won’t look as pretty anyway.

Then seal your bags so your confetti doesn’t fall out – I wanted to add the pretty factor with these cute heart stickers but you could maybe use some patterned washi tape.

Next I folded a doily over each bag, added a carnival ticket and kept them in place with a wooden peg.

And hey presto, your confetti bag is complete!

I’d love to hear about anything you plan to make for your wedding.  What alternatives might you use for this idea?  Leave a comment or you can email in your pics!

Peach Blossom Latest

The last few months have been a bit of a whirlwind at Peach Blossom so the blog has been a tad neglected but I’m determined to bring some party inspiration your way soon!  In the meantime, I’ve put together a little summary of where Peach Blossom’s been spotted recently.

In April we took part in our first wedding event, the Wedding Event with a Difference, in Nottingham.  Organised by the girls behind Save the Date Magazine, we’d heard good things about past fairs so couldn’t wait to be involved.  And it definitely didn’t disappoint.  Brides poured in through the doors, the atmosphere was buzzing and it was lovely to be alongside so many wonderful suppliers.  We were also asked to decorate an area of the venue with our tissue honeycomb balls and we chose white, green and purple to match the Save the Date colours.  It was quite a hectic day so we only managed to grab a few not-so-good phone snaps of our stand and the decorations but it is definitely a great event for brides to attend whilst planning their big day!

In the press, our Striped Paper Bags were featured in the May issue of Junior Magazine.

You and Your Wedding featured our Stripey Straws in their May/June Edition.

And it was super exciting to find out Mollie Makes had chosen to feature our Carnival Tickets and Big Balloons in their special wedding supplement in their birthday issue.

Finally, just last week the team at Rock My Wedding unveiled the results of a Stepford Wives themed shoot they had styled using some of our products, photographed by Christian Ward.  Check out the full results of the shoot here.

Pink and Turquoise

I wanted to share this utterly gorgeous pink and turquoise themed shoot which was a collaboration between wedding photographer Marianne Taylor and Steph of Fairy Nuff Flowers. I just love how it’s been styled, each element seems so carefully chosen and put together and the final results are just beautiful!  I’ve chosen just a couple of photographs to share here so be sure to check out the full collection of photos on Marianne’s blog.
