With Christmas drawing closer, you might (or might not!) have started preparing. There’s plenty to remember to do, including buying decorations, food and presents but sometimes wrapping your gifts can fall down your list of priorities. Wrapping gifts with some creativity adds a bit of excitement to your present before it’s even been opened. I think many of us can agree that we love to give gifts so why not make it more special by making it look even prettier?
With this in mind I thought I’d post a simply DIY for adding a special touch to wrapped gifts. You can use the same items I have or change it up with whatever you have at home.
To start I put together all the materials I wanted to use – wrapping paper (I used brown kraft paper), red tissue paper, a candy cane, cherry red twine, a gift tag and a mini wooden peg. And of course my gift, a little Hello Kitty gift set!
First, I wrapped the present in my wrapping paper. Then I wrapped the red tissue paper around the gift. You can wrap it any way you like but I wanted to put it around the left side.
Next I wrapped the twine around the tissue paper. Again, you can wrap this any way you want, this is just how I wanted to do it.
To add an extra special touch I added a candy cane to the top of the present. I did this by simply tying the candy cane to the twine I’d already wrapped around the gift.
And finally, no gift would be complete without a gift tag. You can buy your gift tags but incase you don’t have any you can make one by simply cutting a circle out of a piece of card. This one I decorated by colouring red dots on one side. Then, just attach it with a mini wooden peg.
